Yes, any and all types pets are welcome! Whether your pet is as small as a hamster or as large as a horse, I am happy to photograph them.
Can I be in the photos too?
Yes! While I specialize in pet photography, I photograph people too. I especially enjoy capturing the bond pets have with their people.
What if I don't have a pet?
No problem! I'm happy to photograph engagement, maternity, family, senior, and head shots.
What if it rains?
There is always the possibility of rain. If there is rain in the forecast, we will be in touch. If it stays dry we will proceed with the session. If it rains we will reschedule the session.
My dog isn't trained, is that okay?
Just because your dog isn't well trained does not mean they do not deserve a photo shoot. Whether your dog needs time to get energy out, or needs to remain on leash, I will work with you to get amazing photos.
Do I need to bring anything?
Please bring your pet's favorite toy and treats to their session. Anything that will help me keep their attention.
Should I have my dog groomed before the session?
Unless your dog is visibly dirty, a full grooming is not necessary. For long haired dogs, please thoroughly brush their coat, especially their ears and tails the night before or the morning of the session. Please also be sure to wipe away any eye goop the morning of the session.
What about my dog's collar?
Most dogs wear collars. If your dog's collar is heavily worn, (frayed, discolored, etc) or has many tags, I highly recommend purchasing a new collar prior to the session. Your photos will turn out best with newer looking collars with either no tags or a simple name tag.
How should we prepare before the session?
If possible, work on your dog's sit, down, stay, and recall prior to your session. It's okay if your dog is not a pro at those commands, however it is extremely helpful if you would like more posed photos over candid & action shots. While many photographers suggest exercising your dog right before the session, I actually do not! Taking your dog for a long walk a couple hours before their session may be beneficial, however exercising your dog hard right before the session will often cause excessive panting.
Where do sessions take place?
I shoot solely on location as I do not have a studio. That location is up to you, whether your dog is most comfortable in your backyard, or at their favorite park. Don't have a location in mind? That's okay! I have several places I can suggest.
What happens after the session?
After the session, please allow 2 weeks for complete editing of your photos. I typically have a sneak peak up on my Facebook Page within a couple days. Once your photos are completed, you will recieve a link to your online gallery. This is when you will choose what products you would like to order. Choose from one of our heavily discounted collections, or choose a completely custom order a la carte.
